Get to know the internet in a fun way – with clever e-learning

What are the differences between smartphones? And how does it actually work with online ads? In the four e-learning courses on digital skills for the Lower Saxony Adult Education Center, beginners and advanced learners get tips and tricks for working together online.

 

The challenge

The aim of online training should be to reach as many people as possible. An e-learning course with a diverse target group that still needs to be convinced. What prior knowledge do the users of the training start with? What is the best way to reach them? It was clear to us that very basic information about social media, online communication and the World Wide Web in general should be communicated, but at the same time it had to be entertaining and amusing. A real challenge with so many unknowns!

 

The solution

Our team has come up with a suitable solution: An everyday story and playful interactions that learners can easily identify with. The users accompany a family with different technical experiences and thus gain important knowledge for the digital world in entertaining learning units - from basics, such as using messengers, to trickier topics, such as the right of use on the Internet. Together with appealing illustrations, the voluntary training manages to make an important contribution to digitization in Germany.
